With artistic talents that reach beyond the photographic arena, Kirsten Holscher brings a fresh approach to portraiture. Whether it’s large family groups, babies to children to teens, or couples just beginning a family, her relaxed style has become the signature of her photography.
Kirsten’s background in art and design allows her to see traditional settings through non-traditional eyes; in additional to art and photography, she holds a degree in Architectural Drafting and Design. Her background in the architectural world is evidenced in her display and presentation of final products. “We need to let our clients know that it’s ok to decorate their homes with portraits of people they love!”
When asked about her style, Kirsten says “I strive for people to be relaxed and have fun when I am working with and photographing them. I don't ever want my clients to feel uncomfortable or feel pressure to perform . . . I always stress this to moms - especially about their children. A session with me takes as long as it takes.” Her images resulting from this approach has gained her favor in the eyes of her clients, and accolades in association print competition.
In business as Fieldstone Portraits since 2003, Kirsten’s experience dates back to film and processing before making the move into the world of digital photography.
Kirsten is an active member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), the Minnesota Professional Photographers Association (MPPA), and the Twin Cities Professional Photographers Association (TCPPA). In 2007, she earned the Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) credential from the PPA.
Kirsten states “I love what the associations have done for me over the years. They are where I go to learn, share ideas with others in the field and become motivated.”
