I am sitting at my desk working and waiting to get a call. The call will come from my Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep coordinator, Heather. I spoke to Heather already this morning to tell her I am ready for her call. In a little while I will head down to Children's Hospital in St. Paul. This will be my third trip there in as many months. I volunteer my time to the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep organization (NILMDTS) and have for quite awhile now. To read a brief description of the organization click here.
Earlier this week Newsweek did a couple of articles that included NILMDTS. Even before knowing about this call today I thought I would blog about the articles. You can follow these links to read the articles.
A Vast and Sudden Sadness and Family Portraits
The articles give some insight into how the organization was formed and why there is a need for it in the first place.
If you know me, you know I do not talk about this topic very much. Most people have no idea that I am apart of this organization. I don't mind talking about it or talking about what it is like but I don't want others to feel uncomfortable. My hope is that what I do gives peace to the people I come into contact with.
