Holiday Greetings to all our members!
As we approach the end of the year and rush to get all the orders ready for our customers, let us take the time to stop and reflect on the many blessings this year. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the negative aspects of life. This may be financial, business or maybe something happening in our personal life. Many times I find myself blaming the economy or the popularity of digital for the studios tough times. And while this may be true to a point, I still have a lot to be thankful for. Take time to sit for a few minutes and jot down all the things in your life you are blessed to have.
Just a few of the things in my life are:
- A beautiful partner, my wife, Laura, that has put up with me for just over 35 years. Someone that is there through thick and thin!
- Having my health after issues last year. Also all of my family in good health.
- I am blessed to have three beautiful daughters that see fit to pitch in and help at the studio even though they have full time jobs and lives of their own.
- Laura’s mother passed in June and I was blessed to have known her for over 36 years. We truly miss her.
- To still have my parents to talk to and care for. As they move up in years, we have to do more for them. The circle of life, it’s our turn now.
- For all the customers I have had this year, the new friends I have made because of that and the old friends I got to be reacquainted with. For without them I would not be able to do what I love…photography
- All the friends I have made and cherish through MNPPA, my church, the Chamber and many other opportunities
This is just a partial list for me! Once you start writing, you too will find your list just keeps growing and growing.
As you get to the end of this year, I hope you are planning for 2010! We need to work up budgets, marketing plans and continue to improve our craft through education. Go out on our site at
www.mnppa.com and check out the opportunities there. We have the Tech Camp in February, an excellent venue for education. Register now and get off to a great start in 2010.
Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year!
